WINTER SUN

Through the open doorway
Running the clear sky
From the sun
93 million miles away
Radiates the light
Of winter's day.
Its brilliance skips
Across the pebbled floor
To my eyes.
The warmth of the day
Enters my skin
And, Oh, what feelings
It wells to the surface.
I am not alone
For a simple housefly
Has too found the sun.
I'm glad to share with him
The warmth
Of this winter's day.
